The SchoolHouse Project

What We Do

Through the SchoolHouse Project, we envision schools as partners in early understanding—not just academic progress. This initiative centers on the development and implementation of a social-emotional screening model designed to help identify children who may be struggling beneath the surface long before challenges become crises.

Our vision is for schools to have practical, developmentally informed tools that:

  • Support early recognition of social, emotional, and regulatory needs
  • Guide thoughtful follow-up rather than labeling or over-pathologizing
  • Empower educators and families with shared language and clarity

By strengthening early identification, the SchoolHouse Project aims to connect children to appropriate supports sooner, reduce long-term emotional and behavioral strain, and foster school environments where differences are recognized and addressed with compassion and intention.
