The Global Delay Project

Removing Barriers to Diagnostic Access for the Systems That Serve Most

What We Do

The Global Delay Project was created to support social service agencies that require timely, accurate psychological evaluations in order to connect children and adults to essential services, funding, and long-term supports.

Unlike traditional models that rely on families to independently seek evaluations—often facing long waitlists, complex referral processes, and financial or logistical barriers—this project is built around direct agency referral. Our goal is to make diagnostic access efficient, reliable, and barrier-free for the systems tasked with serving vulnerable populations.

How This Model Is Different

The Global Delay Project is designed specifically for social service agencies, case management teams, and funding programs that require diagnostic clarity to determine eligibility for state, federal, or waiver-based supports.

  • Referrals come directly from agencies, not from clients navigating the system alone

  • Evaluations are completed by licensed psychologists with experience in developmental and intellectual assessment

  • The process prioritizes speed, accuracy, and regulatory compliance without sacrificing clinical quality

This approach reduces delays that can otherwise prevent individuals from accessing critical services, housing, educational supports, or long-term care planning.

Our Collaborative Evaluation Model

Each referral is managed through a local, on-the-ground psychologist who serves as the primary clinical provider. This psychologist:

  • Conducts intake interviews with the individual and/or caregivers

  • Completes assessment and diagnostic evaluation

  • Interprets findings within the appropriate developmental and functional context

  • Provides feedback to the referring agency

  • Authors a comprehensive diagnostic report that meets funding and eligibility requirements

When appropriate, additional consultation or collaboration occurs within The Neurodevelopmental Collaborative to support diagnostic accuracy and consistency, while maintaining full independence in clinical decision-making.

What Agencies Can Expect

Agencies partnering with the Global Delay Project can expect:

  • Clear referral pathways designed for agency workflows

  • Timely evaluations to reduce service disruption

  • Clinically sound, defensible diagnoses

  • Reports written for real-world use, supporting eligibility determinations and funding decisions

  • Direct communication with licensed psychologists throughout the process

Our reports are designed to support—not slow down—access to services.

Our Commitment

The Global Delay Project is rooted in the belief that no one should lose access to support because the system made evaluation too difficult to obtain. By partnering directly with social service agencies, we aim to remove unnecessary obstacles and ensure that individuals receive the diagnoses and documentation they need to move forward.

Because access should not depend on persistence, privilege, or proximity.
